We offer this finely carved Chinese bamboo brush pot carved with figural scenes and dates from early 20th century This large brush pot is of a tall cylindrical shape and carved from a section of bamboo with a detailed scene that portrays Chinese mythical figures and daily life.
 
Condition: The brush pot has a natural drying split running down the back and into the base and another tiny drying split on the top front. It has not been subject to any loss or repair and have a wonderful age patina. None of this damage is unusual for this material, especially as these items were not designed to be kept in the dry air of centrally heated homes. Despite the signs of aging, the brush pot retains its charm and is a decorative and interesting historical object.
