Realistically modelled and painted, the birds recumbent with head raised, wearing on their chests and wings beautiful decorated blue foliage. They could possibly have been used as planters as they both have a hole on the rear that can accommodate a hook of some sort. They are handmade and hand painted and in original antique state showing signs of use on the inside. They are otherwise in great condition having no chips or cracks or loss of glaze. They can be hung or displayed as shown in the photos. A wonderful pair of vase-shaped owl vessels from blue and white glazed ceramic.
