A bargain for this lot collectors of these boxes would agree: Georgian brass gold gilded snuff box: A lovely Georgian gold gilded Snuff box dating from around the early 1800’s.
 
The hinged engine turned box is done beautifully with the repoussé technique with stars throughout and motifs around the sides. Little more needs to be said about this stunning piece. It measures: 2 ¾ inches wide 1.50 inches high and 2.00 inches deep.
 
Victorian Snuff bottle, Chatelaine perfume bottle: This dainty snuff bottle is an old accessory for a woman’s chatelaine. It was probably considered a scent vial for holding a fine perfume or possibly smelling salts. The round body has a floral design. A beaded strap encompasses the vial culminating near the top where it has hooks. The top portion of the vial has a cap fashioned like leaves. A chain is attached to the side hooks with a loop at the top which would could be added to a chatelaine. The crown like lid slides up and down over the chain for safe keeping. It has its original cork stopper. This piece is from the late 1800’s and was possibly made in France.
 
Overall it measures about 3” long including the large jump ring. The vial measures about 2” to the top of the lid and about by 1 ¼” wide. It is in nice condition with a minor dent.
 
The snuff box and Chatelaine Perfume or Snuff Bottle has no makers mark or hallmark which was also typical of the time. The overall condition of both pieces is fabulous although slightly worn with no repairs or restoration. These pieces would grace any collection or make that great gift.
